Wonder Wheel

I was looking through my phone pics that I've taken over the course of my iphone ownership and came across this lovely lady. If you haven't been to Coney I strongly suggest you do. There is always talk of how it's closed down/going to be closed down/demolished but because of the New York Historical Landmark label given to the Wonder Wheel and Cyclone those rides and the rides surrounding them in their respective parks will be there regardless. Oh and there is this place Nathan's you might have heard of and every 4th of July they do the hot dog eating contest. I found this pic also, thanks iphone!



*Interesting side note; my wife Elana and I were caught in a fast moving heavy thunderstorm 40 minutes after this photo was taken. I had to drive home barefoot wearing a pair of gym shorts and shirt I just happened to leave in the car, Lanie wore a dress shirt (I had to drop it off at the dry cleaners) and my wet boxers.

Thursday's WOTW(word of the week, before you ask) is actually not from Urban Dictionary but from Effing Pots British Slang Page. I go through stages of trying to memorize my fave British slang but my short attention span always leads me astray.

So here it is fellow internetians, yes I am categorizing people who browse the internet, this weeks WOTW!

The Phrase: Her Majesty's Pleasure

The Meaning: It means being put in prison with no release date!

The Example: When visiting England, try to avoid being detained at Her Majesty's pleasure.

Urban dictionary is a riot of a good time and a most excellent way to make the minutes fly by with ease. So whilst perusing through I thought "why not have a word of the week courtesy of urban dictionary?"

So here it is this weeks word: Grandpas Guitars

An acoustic guitar. Made popular by the show Metalocalypse. The term was first used by Toki and Skwiskgaar describing a pile of acoustic guitars or grandpas guitars. If you want to get buck wild you can use the term "grandpa" to describe anything that is an antique. Enjoy!
